Affordable chip repair

From minor imperfections to a complete chip-wreck, team Mendabath UK can carry out a sink, shower or bath chip repair and revive any damaged surface through a cost-effective alternative to replacements and removals.

Basin, bath, or shower tray surfaces in bathrooms are often damaged due to dropping items on the surface. This can cause the surface to crack or chip, but don’t take this as a sign to replace the bath or basin. Give us a call and we can carry out a chip repair quickly and effectively. Replacement is a costly option that also takes too much time and creates too much mess.

At Mendabath UK, we believe that replacement should only be considered if the damage is beyond repair, which means when your bath or basin is absolutely shattered. As long as that is not the case, you can rely on Mendabath UK for bath, basin and shower tray chip repair services.

What to plan before you book

  1. Photograph the damage

A close-up and a wider photo showing where the chip sits help us judge the repair.

  2. Note what caused it

Dropped tiles, metal plugs or loose objects are common causes. Tell us what happened and whether the area is still sharp or loose.

  3. Keep the area clean and dry

Remove everything from the bath, basin or shower tray and make sure the surface is clean before we arrive.

  4. Expect a time slot

For cosmetic repairs, we will give you a time slot no later than the day before.

  5. Think about the whole surface

If the whole surface is worn or stained, resurfacing may suit better. We will tell you.

Good to know

  1. The repair will be very close, not invisible

A coating and an original fired enamel or heat moulded acrylic surface are molecularly different, so light reflects off them at different rates. We meticulously prepare the surface and colour match, and for all intents and purposes you should not see a repair, but we cannot guarantee an invisible repair at all angles and in all lights.

  2. A one year guarantee

The guarantee is an adhesion guarantee, with exclusions for impact, chemicals and standing water.

  3. Report promptly

If you notice a problem with a repair, send us a picture and report it within 7 days of noticing.

  4. Cleaning

Use a soft non-abrasive sponge with warm soapy water. Many shop-bought cleaners can damage the coating.

  5. Future chips

Should you chip the surface again, please contact us for advice.

Questions customers ask

Is a small chip really repairable?

Yes. We routinely repair damage as part of resurfacing, and we have a solution for small chips on an otherwise good surface. We get many calls from people who have dropped tiles, metal plugs or loose objects into the bath.

Will you be able to see the repair?

We take time to prepare the surface and bespoke colour match our material, so for all intents and purposes you should not see a repair, but we cannot promise it is invisible from every angle and in every light.

How long does a chip repair take?

Your bath or basin will be back to as good as new condition within a matter of hours.

What guarantee is there?

We offer a one year guarantee on chip and cosmetic repair work.

Can you repair a shower tray as well?

Yes, we repair baths, basins and shower trays.

When should I replace instead?

We believe replacement should only be considered if the damage is beyond repair.

Will it save money?

Our service can save you hundreds of pounds by avoiding the need to fully replace your bath or basin, not to mention the time and inconvenience.
