What to plan before you book

  1. Tell us what the basin is made from

Ceramic, vitreous china and cast basins are all different. Photos and the history of the basin help us advise.

  2. Note where the damage is

Cracks, chips and worn areas around the plughole or tap holes affect the repair, so photograph those areas closely.

  3. Think about the taps

If you plan to change the taps, do it before the work begins, as the coating needs time to cure undisturbed.

  4. Clear the surrounding area

Remove toiletries and wipe down shelves, sills and light fittings to cut down dust.

  5. Decide on colour

Most basins are restored to bright white, but tell us if you want to change the colour.

Good to know

  1. We do not restore kitchen sinks

Kitchen sinks are used in a way that is not conducive to being resurfaced. They are subjected to hot and heavy pans, oils, spices and colourants such as tea bags, sharp knives being dropped onto them repeatedly, and the bleaches and cleaning products used in a kitchen. For these reasons we do not recommend resurfacing a kitchen sink.

  2. Cleaning a resurfaced basin

Use a soft non-abrasive sponge with warm soapy water, and avoid abrasive cleaners.

  3. Staining

Avoid products with a high colour concentration, such as hair dyes, as these can cause staining. Minor staining can sometimes be removed with a car polish and a microfibre cloth.

  4. Chips after the work

Should you chip the surface of your basin, please contact us for advice.

  5. Replacement is sometimes right

If a basin is beyond repair, we will say so rather than take on work we do not believe will last.

Questions customers ask

Can you repair a cracked basin?

We can repair cracks, chips and scratches. Send photos so we can check the repair will last.

Can you change the colour of my basin?

Yes. We can repair cracks, chips, resurface, or even change the colour of your existing basin.

How long before I can use it?

Rooms are back in service in as little as 24 hours.

Is the process noisy or smelly?

We do not create excess noise, and our materials contain no carcinogenic substances such as isocyanides. There is a paint smell as the surface cures.

Can you resurface a kitchen sink?

No. We do not recommend resurfacing kitchen sinks, because of the way they are used.

Will the basin look new?

The result is a high gloss, brilliant white finish. It is a spray finish, so it is not identical to the factory finish.

What if I want the taps replaced?

Replace the taps before the work begins, rather than afterwards.
